Billiard Ball Pocket

A billiard ball pocket is a common part of a billiard table.billiard ball pocket This pocket is designed to hold the cue ball. It is traditionally white, but may be marked with a logo or spots. In most pocket billiard games, both players use a single cue ball. The other balls are called object balls. They are usually numbered from one to the number of balls used. The WPA Equipment Specifications specify the colors of these balls.

Billiards table pockets come in many designs and types. These can range from simple drop pockets to elaborate ball returns. The shapes and dimensions of these pocket types vary, but they all have an opening wide enough for two billiard balls. Side pockets are slightly larger, measuring from 5" to 5 1/4" in diameter.

Billiard ball pockets are important for safety. A player must designate which balls will go into the pocket. This is not a foul, but it is important to know what pocket your balls are in before you play. If you pocket too many balls on the same shot, you will lose your turn. Likewise, if you miss a pocket with your ball, you won't be able to make your shot.

When a ball pockets, the first ball to reach it scores. If a player reaches eight balls in his pocket, he wins the game. However, if a ball is near the edge of a pocket, it is not considered pocketed. This is because it's being supported by another ball. Removing the supporting ball from the pocket would cause the ball to fall into the pocket.

During a game of billiards, the object is to get eight balls into the pocket. Once a ball enters the pocket, the player has scored a pocketed ball. If the opponent doesn't notice the pocket, the game is lost. Therefore, the player must not call attention to the ball.

When a player misses a pocket, the ball may fall out of the pocket. A double hit is when the cue ball hits the ball twice. If the cue ball is hit twice, the ball will fall twice. If you miss two shots in a row, you are out.

The goal of a game of billiards is to pocket the ball closest to the target. The last ball in the target pocket counts as one ball for the shooter, but if the cue ball scratches the table, it counts as a foul shot and your opponent keeps the ball. If the cue ball misses the pocket, the game is over.
